There were no birds, no traffic, no chattering pedestrians. No wind to blow around the fresh snow, just silence. Granted it was quite early, it was still unnerving, with the current circumstances. The fresh thoughthe ad him leaning back in his seat, sipping his steaming latte to scan for the person he was meeting. He peeked out from under the brim of the ball cap he had hiding his telltale white hair. Late. Of course he was late. He set his coffee back down, looking at his gloved hands, the right looking a bit bulky under his sleeve, at least no one would notice at a glance. Nero let out a heavy sigh, anticipating how badly this was going to go. It had been months since the incident, and they still hadn't found the demons responsible. Dante wasn't handling things well, understatement of the year.

He didn't do disguises very well, plain clothes was the most anyone would get from him. These days he was begunning to care less and less. Coming around the bend he spotted his nefew waiting outside the coffee shop, a cup of coffee waiting for him. With a slump, he sank into the seat across from Nero, pulling a flask from the inner pocket of the shorter black jacket he wore lately. Pouring a good amount into his coffee he looked up his disapproving companion. "Do you want me to stay chill? Let me have this." The older devil tucked the flask back away before wrapping both hands around the warm mug. No one was looking forward to another day of dissapointment, he'd had too many as it was. Months. Months now since the night he didn't listen to his gut, the night he put reason and process over his instincts. He had reiterated the story so many times to others joining the investigation, it was getting old, he didn't want to go through it all again. Finding the motel door unlocked, thinking it was her laying in the bed, the intimate things that were said and done before he realized it wasn't. He threw back a large swig of the spiked caffeine, he was definitely going to need a lot more of this. "Anything actually new, or just a different search area looking for the same dead-end clues?" Dante waved to the young waitress pointing to the mug to ask for a refill.

The feline-in-human-form happened to be walking past the coffee shop on her way home to freshen up. Dark circles under her eyes and her hair a tousled mess, a denim jacket the color of dried blood zipped up tight and in stark contrast to her black jeans, torn at the knees, and boots, scuffed up.
She was mostly past Dante before she recognized him and before the smell of fresh coffee hit her. Before she knew what she was doing, she had hoisted herself over the wrought iron fence and pulled up another chair, hoping the wait staff wouldn't mind any more than the hunters whose meeting she just crashed.
"Coffee..."
She sighed, rubbing her face and peering at them from between spread fingers.
"I'm sorry to butt in unannounced, just need some coffee and to freshen up before I hit the bricks again. So far, I've had no luck..."
She trailed off as something shiny down the street caught her attention. Shaking her head, she returned to the present.
"... Or sleep. But I won't give up."
